Thaddeus grew up in the Yuba-Sutter area, moving from a house just around the corner from the home he is raising his family in now to a 10-acre almond ranch on the west side of Sutter. As the son of a financial advisor and insurance agent, personal finance and protecting family wealth have been in his blood for as long as he can remember.
He graduated from Sutter Union High School and moved two days later to Sacramento to live with his older brother, Eric, and attend American River College. After four semesters at ARC, Thaddeus decided to continue his education at his parents' alma mater, Troy State University (which changed its name to Troy University by the time he graduated) in Troy, Alabama.
After graduation, Thaddeus moved back home to Sutter. He was given the opportunity to take over his father’s business with New York Life, but felt that at 23 years old, he wasn't quite ready for that level of responsibility. Instead, he moved to Roseville and enrolled in the Macy's Federated Department Store management training program. Missing home and realizing the corporate retail world wasn't his passion, he returned to the area and took a position in the staffing industry in Yuba City.
After five successful years in staffing, Thaddeus felt the pull back toward the financial sector. He initially applied with Edward Jones, where he had several close friends working. However, before finalizing the process, another friend asked for his help building a startup office supply business. After 18 months of successfully getting that business off the ground, Thaddeus could no longer ignore his true calling.
He reapplied to Edward Jones, starting at the end of January and earning his licenses in May of 2011. Over a wonderful 15-year career with Edward Jones, Thaddeus built a highly successful practice, becoming a $1 million producer. In May of 2026, he made the strategic decision to leave the firm and partner with Sunil Tumber to establish their own independent firm, Sutter Buttes Wealth Management.
Thaddeus and Sunil are thrilled to offer comprehensive, full-service wealth management and financial planning right here in Yuba City. Thaddeus brings over 15 years of deep industry experience to the firm, along with elite professional credentials, holding designations as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®).
